FIELD: imaging technology.
SUBSTANCE: usage: for obtaining images using proton radiation. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that before conducting experiments with the object under study, the consistency of the parameters of the proton beam formed by the first magneto-optical system (MOS) with the parameters of the second magneto-optical system is monitored, for which the converter is removed from the first registration system, and a proton radiation detector is installed in the Fourier plane (FP) of the second MOS instead of the collimator, changing the angle of inclination of the phase ellipse in the vertical and horizontal planes for the proton beam formed by the first MOS, a beam is passed through the study area and the second MOS, a signal is recorded from a detector installed in the FP, and the beam dimensions are determined in the horizontal and vertical planes, the parameters of the proton beam, at which its dimensions in the FP are minimal, are consistent with the parameters of the second MOS, then, installing a converter in the first recording system and replacing the proton radiation detector with a collimator in the second MOS, a proton beam formed using the first MOS, whose parameters were selected, is passed through the study area, digital images are obtained before and after the beam passes through the study area using two registration systems and the resulting digital images are processed to obtain an image of the study area.
EFFECT: improvement of the quality of registered proton images.
