FIELD: communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of wireless or telecommunication communication. In the method for operation of the user apparatus (10) in the radio access network, the user apparatus (10) is configured with a reference time resource available in one or more slots for a scheduling request transmission. The reference time resource comprises a reference symbol R configured for the initial slot based on a predetermined slot offset, wherein each of said one or more slots have a duration of the slot equal to 14 characters. The user apparatus (10) is additionally configured with a requesting periodicity P indicating the periodicity with a time period less than the duration of the slot, wherein the requesting periodicity P corresponds to 2 or 7 characters. The method includes a stage wherein a scheduling request message is transmitted in the physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) in the request transmission symbol T based on the reference symbol R and the periodicity P, wherein the scheduling request message is a PUCCH message of the format 0, transmitted by 1 character.
EFFECT: reducing the volume of service signalling.
