SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication. To this end, user equipment (UE) 10 for a radio access network is disclosed, which is configured to transmit an acknowledgment signal associated with downlink data, wherein downlink data comprise one or more downlink data items. Acknowledgment signal has an uplink signalling format containing one or more confirmation sub-structures, wherein each of the sub-structures carries confirmation information related to the downlink data element. Each of the substitution substitutions is mapped to its data element from the downlink data elements based on at least one confirmation position indicator provided in the downlink control signalling received by UE (10).
EFFECT: technical result is achievement of flexible transmission of acknowledgment signalling in uplink.
