FIELD: hydroacoustic communication.
SUBSTANCE: the invention relates to the field of hydroacoustic communication and can be used in hydroacoustic information and control networks at sections of hydro-relay lines for transmitting formulary messages with a limited amount of information symbols. Essence: in the method for transmitting discrete messages between underwater objects, fragments of sonograms of recordings of sounds of marine animals, fish and crustaceans with a weakly expressed pulse character are used to form acoustic color signals of the session signal of the first underwater object, and the session signal received at the second underwater object is heterodyned to a low intermediate frequency with a frequency of a heterodyne, less than the frequency of the carrier of the binary phase-manipulated signal, when forming the session signal of the first underwater object, the maximum boundary frequency of the spectrum of the masking binary phase-manipulated quasi-white noise signal is selected from the condition of a significant excess after the operation of heterodyning the session signal on the second underwater object of the value of the minimum boundary frequency of the spectrum of the masking quasi-white noise of the intermediate conversion frequency, a harmonic synchronization parcel of a given duration with the carrier frequency of the binary phase-manipulated signal is introduced into the session signal of the first underwater object, transmitted before its information parcels without breaking the oscillation phase of the carrier of the information signal.
EFFECT: increasing the secrecy of the process of session transmission of form messages between underwater objects by changing the structure and parameters of session hydroacoustic signals emitted into the water environment from the first underwater object and masked under possible acoustic background noises of a known marine area, as well as implementing appropriate actions for their reception and processing at the second underwater object.
