SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a sorting method and to a sorting device for sorting blanks of glass sheets, as well as to a device for producing cut glass sheets with a cutting machine for cutting glass sheets into separate blanks of glass sheets and with a sorting device of this type, and to a method for producing cut glass sheets. Sorting device (4) contains receiving unit (8) with several, preferably placed in a row of partitioned racks (10) with unsorted plate elements placed in them, preferably blanks (2) of glass sheets, a separate sorting unit (9) placed after receiving unit (8). Sorting unit (9) has at least one row (15; 16) of partitioned racks (10). A part of the partitioned racks (10) is partitioned racks (10) with unsorted plate elements, preferably blanks of glass sheets (2), taken into them from receiving unit (8). Sorting unit (9) has at least one sorting shuttle (17), which can move back and forth along a rigidly defined trajectory parallel to a number of partitioned racks (10), preferably automatically, for sorting unsorted plate elements, preferably unsorted blanks of glass sheets (2), from those filled with unsorted plate elements, to other partitioned racks (10) of the sorting unit (9). In the method for sorting plate elements, the device for obtaining blanks of glass sheets and the method for obtaining blanks of glass sheets, the sorting device described above is used.
