FIELD: sorting systems.

SUBSTANCE: subject invention relates to automatic devices for sorting items, designed for distributing items to different sorting zones, as well as to methods for sorting items. The technical result is achieved by the proposed system for sorting items, containing a conveyor for transportation and a barcode scanning device, whereby the system contains an auto-feed conveyor, in the zone of which a sensor is located for measuring the interval between items, and following which an input sensor is installed. Using this sensor each new item on the line, the sorting zones to which the objects must be sorted, as well as the error zone to which unsorted items are transported due to errors in the system, are registered. Moreover, at the beginning of each sorting zone there are overflow sensors for the sorting zones, one of which is configured to warn about the sorting zone overflow, the other one is configured to stop sorting into the sorting zone; ejecting devices located opposite each sorting zone, and in front of the ejecting devices following a barcode scanner or behind the transportation conveyor, item sensors for the entry into the sorting zone are installed. Using these sensors the arrival of items in the zone of the ejecting devices is registered. Furthermore, non-swipe sensors are installed, by means of which the system is informed about correct item sorting into the sorting zones, and also the arrival of items into the next sorting zone is recorded, while each sensor in the system is configured to measure the distance between items transported one after another.

EFFECT: application of the system enhances item sorting efficiency.
