FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular, to methods for manufacturing forged workpieces from (α+β)-titanium alloys by the hot deformation method. The method for manufacturing a forged workpiece in the form of a rod from (α+β)-titanium alloys includes forging an ingot into a workpiece in the form of a bar in several passes at a temperature of the β-area, intermediate forging in several passes, final deformation at a temperature of the (α+β)-area. The ingot in the β-area is forged at a temperature of Tpt+(70 to 170)°C with a value of reduction from 1.9 to 2.5, followed by cooling the workpiece in the form of a rod in air, intermediate forging of the workpiece in the form a rod is first performed in the (α+β)-area at a temperature of Tpt-40°C with a value of reduction from 1.3 to 1.5 in one pass, and then the workpiece is in the form of a rod is heated to the β-area to recrystallise the alloy at the temperature of Tpt+(70 to 170)°C, and the workpiece in the form of a rod is forged at this temperature with a value of reduction from 1.2 to 1.3, followed by cooling in water, finishing forging into a rod is performed in the (α+β)-area at a temperature of Tpt-40°C with a value of reduction from 3.0 to 3.6, and then mechanical processing of the workpiece in the form of a rod is executed, wherein Tpt is the temperature of the polymorphic transformation of the alloy.
EFFECT: high values of strength, plasticity and energy consumption of the material are achieved due to a homogeneous globular-plate microstructure throughout the entire volume of the workpiece.
