FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of foundry production. The method for molding molten metal under pressure includes feeding molten metal into sleeve (30) of plunger (40) and injecting molten metal into mold (10, 20) with the plunger, when it is pushed forward in the plunger sleeve towards the mold. The plunger is retracted once before moving towards the mold for molten metal injection to eliminate swirls of molten metal and air entrainment during injection. At the subsequent extension, after the mentioned retraction, the plunger is accelerated until the target maximum speed is reached.
EFFECT: acceleration of the injection process is provided, limiting the decrease in the temperature of metal in the plunger sleeve and eliminating air entrainment, which contributes to improving the quality of molding.
