FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to casting of metals. Method of controlling movement of metal oxides on surface of molten metal in crystallizer for continuous or semi-continuous casting comprises steps of providing crystallizer for continuous casting with cavity of crystallizer, made with possibility of making cast part, providing oxide bridge located relative to crystallizer cavity for content of oxides appearing on molten metal surface, providing one or more oxide outlets from the inner part of the bridge, configured to direct oxides appearing on the surface of the molten metal inside the inner portion of the oxide bridge, to a predetermined point within the cavity of the crystallizer, introducing molten metal into crystallizer cavity to required level of metal detected by molten metal level sensor, providing controlled release of oxide crosspiece on surface of molten metal for direction of oxides formed inside inner part of oxide bulkhead, for flowing beyond oxide bridge to specified place inside cavity of crystallizer.

EFFECT: accurate control of level of molten metal in compression mold for continuous casting is achieved.
