FIELD: furniture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mechanism for opening and closing a niche cover, specifically a niche with connections built into a table, wall, floor, etc. Mechanism (M) for opening and closing niche cover (1) is made with the possibility to be lifted from two opposite sides (13) and (14) to provide access to the inner part from either one (13) or the other side (14), so that, when one of sides (13) or (14) is raised, the other side (14) or (13) remains fixed, so that the cover is rotated, respectively, on one of first (E1) or second axes formed on the other side (14) or (13). The mechanism contains two guide expansions (P1) and (P2), two guide nodes (G1) and (G2), each of which contains first groove (R1) and second groove (R2'), which both have the shape of a circular arc. The center of the circular arc of first groove (R1) and second groove (R2') is located on first axis (E1) and on second axis, respectively.
EFFECT: design of a simple mechanism is provided, which occupies a minimum space of the niche and provides a smooth action, and which is easy to manufacture, in addition, such a cover is effectively guided, but it can be completely removed to access the niche, for example, to wash it or replace connections.
