LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC G02F1/133

Abstract RU 2479000 C2

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal device (100A) according to the present invention has first and second image elements (P1 and P2). Each of the first and second image elements (P1 and P2) includes a first, second and third image sub-element (R, G and B). When the input signal indicates that each image element must display a first colour, the brightness values of the corresponding third image sub-elements (B1 and B2) from the first and second image elements (P1 and P2) are different from each other. However, when the input signal indicates that each image element must display a second colour, the average brightness value of the corresponding third image sub-elements (B1 and B2) is essentially the same as in the case when the first colour was given, and the brightness values of the corresponding third image sub-elements (B1 and B2) are essentially equal to each other.

EFFECT: improved display.
