FIELD: wire drawing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a wire drawing die. The die contains a carbide cermet insert, an insert and a cage made of steel, connected to each other with an interference fit. The insert is made in the form of a ring, consisting of at least one layer obtained by tightly winding two wires of triangular cross-section along the entire length of the carbide cermet insert. The vertices of the equilateral triangles in the section of each wire are directed in opposite directions, and the bases of the triangles opposite to these vertices are located, respectively, at different boundaries of each layer.
EFFECT: increased rigidity and durability of the die.
