WIRE ROPE MANUFACTURE METHOD Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: rope production, in particular, manufacture of plastically deformed ropes. SUBSTANCE: method involves coiling members into rope; drawing and winding rope. Before drawing procedure, rope is subjected to rolling in several passes by directing it through set of "round-round" passes until reaching the value equal to 0.7-0.9 of predetermined total reduction extent value. For first pass, rope reduction value is determined from ratio: ε₁ = (0,4÷0,6)ε_tot, where ε₁ is reduction extent in first pass; ε_tot is predetermined total reduction extent. For each subsequent pass, reduction extent is selected on condition: where ε_n is reduction extent in n- stand, n is number of stands. EFFECT: improved quality of wire rope. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
