SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol delivery system. The aerosol delivery system for producing aerosol from a replaceable consumable element containing an aerosol-forming material includes an aerosol delivery apparatus containing a power source, a receiver, a sensor and an aerosol-forming element, wherein the sensor and the aerosol-forming element are configured to be activated when power is supplied from the power source; and a replaceable consumable element adapted to engage with the receiver and containing an aerosol-forming material and a marker. The aerosol-forming element is configured to produce an aerosol from the aerosol-forming material, and the sensor is configured to detect the marker when the replaceable consumable element is engaged with the receiver. The replaceable consumable element forms an external profile containing at least a first aligning tool, and the receiver forms an internal profile forming at least a second aligning tool corresponding to the first aligning tool. The first and second aligning tools are configured to limit the orientation of the replaceable consumable element to one orientation when engaged with the receiver, wherein the aerosol-forming material is aligned with the aerosol-forming element and the marker is aligned with the sensor.
EFFECT: electricity consumption and weight are reduced.
