SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, in particular to the design of bearing shields and can be mainly used in the manufacture of electrical machines. The end shield contains an aluminum shield body and a steel sleeve with a knurled pattern on the outer surface in the form of straight corrugations, pressed with an interference fit into the bearing seat. At the end face of the outer surface of the steel sleeve there is a radius for pressing it in. On the end face of the bearing seat of the aluminum housing of the shield, on a circle spaced at a distance of 2 ... 6 mm from the outer diameter of the sleeve, there are recesses from punching. Between the mating outer surface of the steel insert and the inner surface of the bearing seat, an alternating preload is formed between the said surfaces by making them with a different difference between the inner diameter of the bearing seat and the outer diameter of the insert at the opposite ends of the bearing shield, while the variable preload Δ is selected from the following expression: ∆=∆1-∆2=(0.04...0.6) mm, where ∆1 is the interference between the mating surfaces of the steel sleeve and the bearing seat, from the inner side of the end shield, ∆1=(Di -d); where ∆1 is an interference fit between the mating surfaces of the steel sleeve and the bearing seat, from the inside of the end shield, ∆1=(Di-d); Di - the outer diameter of the steel sleeve from the inner side of the end shield; d is the inner diameter of the bearing seat for the aluminum shield body; ∆2 is an interference fit between the mating surfaces of the steel sleeve and the bearing seat, from the outside of the end shield, ∆2=(D-d); D is the outer diameter of the steel bush on the outside of the end shield.
