FIELD: electrical equipment; welding.
SUBSTANCE: screw-type electrode holder is intended for manual arc welding by consumable electrode. Stopper 5 of material of hardness not lower than 60 HRC (standardized) is installed on end of current lead 4. It reliably presses welding electrode to electrode head 3. Welding current passes along path of least resistance: current lead 4 – threaded joint – electrode head 3 – welding electrode. One part of the handle belongs to housing 1, and the other to tip 2. After the welding electrode is fixed, two parts of the handle are simultaneously held by one hand of the welder. For convenience of operation welding electrode is installed at angle of 93–94° to axis of handle. On cylindrical part of housing 1, entering tip 2, there are 3 arc-shaped friction springs. Springs brake tip 2 rotation relative to housing 1, creating the greatest convenience during the electrodes replacement. Tip 2 is made from fluoroplastic F-4 or composite materials based on it, increasing durability of structure. Electrode head 3 with lengthwise splines on outer surface is pressed into tip.
EFFECT: electrode holder is intended for manual arc welding by consumable electrode.
