FIELD: heat engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for compression of gaseous fluid and, in particular, concerns regenerative heat compressors. The device for compression of gaseous fluid contains inlet (46) and outlet (47) for gaseous fluid. Working case (2) contains gaseous fluid. First chamber (21) is thermally connected to hot source (6) made with the possibility of transferring heat to gaseous fluid. Second chamber (22) is thermally connected to cold source (5). Piston (7) is installed in a cylindrical jacket with the possibility of moving in the axial direction (X), separating first chamber (21) and second chamber (22), and made with the possibility of moving by rod (8) by axial reciprocating motion. Regenerative heat exchanger (9) establishes a pneumatic connection between chambers (21, 22). The compression device contains auxiliary chamber (23), the average pressure in which is half the sum of the intake and exhaust pressures. In chamber (23), there is self-driving device (4) acting on the end of the rod and containing connecting rod (41) connected to rod (8), and inertial flywheel (42) connected to the connecting rod, and a double-acting elastic return device connected to rod (8) and having a neutral point corresponding to a position near the middle of piston (7) stroke. A thermal system is also disclosed.
