FIELD: packaging.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to apparatuses for sealing or enclosing a tray with objects placed therein, in particular, food products, and more specifically, to drives for moving the sealed tray. The tray sealing apparatus includes a base and a tray holder configured to move horizontally and vertically relative to the base under the heated plate and upwards to the heated plate, respectively. The mechanism for horizontal and vertical movement of the tray therein includes two parallelogram mechanisms located symmetrically in vertical planes with single axes for each of the four pairs of symmetrically arranged hinges and single axes for each of the two pairs of rotatable links, the first pair of links of the parallelogram mechanisms maintaining the horizontal position during movement constitutes the tray holder. The base comprises vertical sidewalls, each with two grooves, the grooves of one sidewall are arranged line-symmetrically to the grooves of the other sidewall, each groove consists of consecutively arranged parts – a horizontal part and a vertical part. Rollers are installed at the ends of the single axes of the hinges of the first pair of links of the parallelogram mechanisms. The rollers on different single axes of the hinges are therein located in different pairs of line-symmetrical grooves of the sidewalls, configured to move in the horizontal and vertical parts of the grooves of the sidewalls, and the ends of the single axes of the rotatable links are configured to move horizontally along the guiding sidewalls.

EFFECT: use of a single drive for horizontal and vertical movement of the tray holder, respectively, under the heated plate and upwards to the heated plate; the design of the apparatus therein ensures the safety of use thereof by the user installing an open tray in a holder and taking the sealed tray from the holder outside of the area of possible contact with the heated plate.
