FIELD: manipulators.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to apparatuses for manipulating metal rods and can be used in the building industry. The apparatus comprises a loading unit (22) equipped with elements (25) of a conveyor for transferring a number of rods (31) to the selector unit (34) containing a gripping tool (35) configured to extract one or more rods (31) from the elements (25) of the conveyor of the loading unit (22) and releasing said rods towards the subsequent collection point (43). The apparatus comprises sensors (41) configured to automatically determine at least the amount of rods (31) extracted and released by the gripping tool (35) towards the collection point (43). Disclosed is a method for manipulating rods using the claimed apparatus.
EFFECT: quick and efficient extraction and selection of metal rods is provided.
