FIELD: analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of analytical chemistry, namely, to a method for determining the mass concentration of total iron in associated waters and waters of oil and gas condensate fields by an X-ray fluorescence method. The method includes sampling, preparation of calibration solutions of total iron, calibration of a device, data processing using software according to a calibration procedure, preparation of a sample of at least 100 cm3 for analysis by filtering through a dry filter into dry dish, discarding the first 25 cm3 of a filtrate. The sample is poured into a pre-prepared cuvette, which is placed in a spectroscan for measurements in compliance with modes specified during calibration of a spectrometer, after measurements, the mass content of iron ions is set according to a previously constructed calibration schedule, the arithmetic mean of the results of parallel measurements is calculated, after which the measurement results are checked by checking the acceptability of two consecutive measurements by a discrepancy value.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to ensure the speed of measurements and perform measurements with the required accuracy.
