FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of measuring mass concentration of barium ions using a photocolorimetric method. Method includes sampling, preparation of auxiliary and calibration solutions, construction of calibration characteristics, determination of mass concentration of barium ions. As an auxiliary solution, precipitation and blank solutions are prepared, a calibration solution is prepared with mass concentration of barium ions from 5.0 to 100.0 mg/dm3, optical density is measured at wavelength of 440 nm, before plotting the calibration characteristic, the linear dependence of the optical density is checked, construction of the calibration characteristic is performed by the least squares method, the taken sample of the water-oil mixture is held until the room temperature is reached, after stratification, formation water is separated from oil, 5 cm3 of formation water sample is taken, it is transferred into a measuring vessel with capacity of 50 cm3, adding 200 mcdm3 of ethyl alcohol, 5 cm3 of precipitation mixture and brought to mark equal to 50 cm3 by adding distilled water, mixture is stirred for 1 minute, held for at least 3 minutes, mixed again, the mixture is poured into a cuvette, optical density is measured in a spectrophotometer at wave length 440 nm, mass concentration of barium ions in a sample of formation water is calculated.
EFFECT: wider field of application, range of measurements, high accuracy of analysis, reduced time spent on determining.
