FIELD: smoking devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the tobacco industry, namely to aerosol delivery apparatuses and to a method for operation of an aerosol delivery apparatus. The aerosol delivery apparatus comprises a power source configured to output an electric current. The aerosol delivery apparatus comprises a sprayer in fluid communication with a reservoir containing an aerosol precursor composition, configured to receive an electric current from the power source. The aerosol delivery apparatus includes a dispensing mechanism made communicating with the power source to receive an electric current from said power source and containing a shape memory alloy configured to change the shape in response to the heat generated by the electric current provided by the power source and to selectively adjust the flow of the aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir to the sprayer configured to generate aerosol. The aerosol delivery device includes a flow sensor designed to output a signal corresponding to the draw on the aerosol delivery apparatus. The aerosol delivery apparatus also comprises a controller configured to control the electric current supplied by the power source to the dispensing mechanism and the sprayer in response to said signal. Also disclosed is a method for operation of the aerosol delivery apparatus.

EFFECT: optimised operation of the aerosol delivery apparatus due to the selective adjustment of the flow of the aerosol precursor composition.
