FIELD: weapons.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a rifled artillery barrel, in the process whereof a barrel workpiece for rifling is manufactured, the inner smooth cylindrical through channel whereof is made with a diameter for the rifling land along the entire length. In order to control the electrochemical process of rifle shaping, the values of the technological current for shaping rifles with a diameter, nominal on the side of the muzzle and maximum permissible by the barrel geometry for the rifles on the side of the breech are calculated. The workpiece is rigidly fixed in a horizontal position on an electrochemical CNC machine, connected with a positive current source and the attachments for supplying an electrolyte and removing the anode dissolution products, and the electrode tool is secured on a cathode rod capable of performing rotational and reciprocating motion along the axis of the workpiece channel. Electrochemical shaping of the rifles, controlled by the programmable apparatus of the machine, begins from the side of the breech of the workpiece, reducing the amount of technological current within the calculated values thereof in the process, the rifles are formed, wherein the diameter of the channel along the rifles is reduced within the tolerance for rifles along the entire length of the bore of the barrel in the direction of the muzzle.
EFFECT: increase in the resource and the tactical and technical characteristics of the rifled barrel and the weapon in general.
