FIELD: clinical medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to clinical medicine, namely to dentistry and clinical laboratory diagnostics. The method for predicting the risk of caries progression includes the study of unstimulated oral fluid. Simultaneously with the oral fluid, a scraping of the buccal epithelium is examined. In this case, the content of protein and leukocytes in the oral fluid is determined, and in the scraping of the buccal epithelium - the number of cells with a perinuclear vacuole. If the protein content is below 4 g/l, leukocytes are less than 7 cells/mcl and the number of cells with perinuclear vacuole is less than 0.2%, then a low risk of caries progression is predicted. If the protein content is higher than 10 g/l, leukocytes are more than 20 cells/mcl, and cells with a perinuclear vacuole are more than 1.5%, a high probability of caries progression is predicted. With a protein content in the range of 4-10 g/l, leukocytes - 7-20 cells/mcl, and the number of cells with a perinuclear vacuole 0.2-1.5% predict the average risk of caries progression.
EFFECT: invention improves accuracy of predicting the risk of caries progression.
