FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an electrodeposited coating composition, processed substrates and methods for applying coating to substrates. The electrodeposited coating composition includes: (a) acrylic polymer containing a product of polymer dispersant polymerization and composition of ethylene-unsaturated monomer of the second stage, while the composition contains more than 40 wt. % of (meth)acrylate monomer of the second stage with hydroxyl functional groups per the total weight of the composition of ethylene-unsaturated monomer of the second stage, where the specified acrylic polymer is present in the amount from 0.1 wt. % to 5 wt. %, (b) film-forming polymer containing ion salt groups that differs from acrylic polymer and that is present in the amount from 40 wt. % to 80 wt. %, and (c) a curing agent in the amount from 10 wt. % to 50 wt. %, where weight percent is calculated based on the total weight of resin solids in the electrodeposited coating composition, wherein the specified composition additionally contains a dispersion medium containing water. A method for applying coating to substrate and substrate covered with the electrodeposited coating composition are also described.
EFFECT: providing the electrodeposited coating composition allowing for obtaining coatings with improved indicator of corrosion resistance of edges (end areas) of substrate, control of crater formation and edge coating.
