FIELD: tile-based video games.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions characterizes video encoding and decoding technologies and, more specifically, relates to the encoding and decoding of flexible image segments. A method for decoding the image is proposed. The method contains a stage at which a bit stream containing a set of encoded flexible clippings and information from a set of parameters associated with a set of encoded flexible clippings is received, and the information contains both the height and width of the first segment of the image of the spatial partitioning structure. Further, according to the method, the spatial partitioning structure is derived from the information in the bit stream, which divides the image into flexible clippings, and each flexible clipping corresponds to one of the many encoded flexible clippings and contains at least one unit.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of encoding/decoding images using the structure of flexible splitting of clippings.
