FIELD: absorption probability measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for measuring the probability of absorption of neutrons upon their sub-barrier reflection from the surface. The substance of the invention lies in the fact that the probability of reflection of neutrons from a three-layer structure is measured, in which the outer layers are made of substances with a positive value of the real part of the potential of interaction with a neutron, while the probability of reflection of neutrons from the structure is measured at several values of the thickness of the middle and surface layers , from the measured values of the probability of neutron reflection from the structure at resonance values of the neutron wave vector, the probability of neutron absorption at sub-barrier reflection of neutrons from the surface of the outer layers of the structure is determined.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of measuring, depending on the normal component of the neutron wave vector, the probability of neutron absorption at a single sub-barrier reflection of neutrons from the surface.
