FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and nuclear power and is intended to generate a variable sinusoidal EMF using modules with series-parallel connection of power generating elements (PGE), converting the thermal energy of a nuclear power plant of a spacecraft into the energy of a DC voltage electric current. An improved form of the generator output voltage is achieved by approximating the sinusoidal function of the output voltage by a sequence of impulse functions, the number of which is taken to be 24 per period of the sinusoidal function. The generator can be used to power spacecraft devices without using inverters and storage batteries or electric machine converters. The device can be divided into the following functional blocks: 1. Control unit, which provides cyclic, with a given period T, alternate supply of control pulses that control the opening of electronic keys located in the switching unit; 2. Pulse switching unit, which provides connection to the output terminals of the switching unit of constant voltage sources generated by the power supply module unit (PMU), generating a sequence of pulses of the required amplitude. In the generator, obtaining the output voltage, in the form of approaching a sinusoidal function, is based on the approximation of a sinusoidal function by a sequence of 24 impulse functions. The approximation of a sinusoidal function used in the device by a sequence of 24 impulse functions makes it possible to improve the quality of the voltage generated by the generator, which is close in shape to a sinusoidal function of time, to reduce the number and amplitudes of higher harmonics that distort the sinusoidal voltage waveform, to increase the energy performance of the installation by eliminating or reducing the energy of higher harmonics , to lower the requirements for the harmonic filters and, as a result, to lower the cost of the generator.
EFFECT: creation of an alternating voltage generator with an improved shape of the output voltage based on a nuclear power plant.
