FIELD: radiation exposure and testing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for radiation exposure and testing of the reliability of aerospace objects to the effect of neutron fluxes from atmospheric and outer space. The source of neutrons with a natural energy spectrum is a spallation target made of lead, at which a flux of 1000 MeV protons is directed. A continuous time spectrum of the neutron beam is provided, and the shape of its energy spectrum corresponds to the reference atmospheric-space spectrum. The target and collimator of the neutron beam are located inside the radiation shield wall of the synchrocyclotron. The collimator has a conical hole with a tunable aperture and is made movable to adjust the angle between the target and collimator axes. The stand with a set of test samples has the ability to move along the axis of the neutron beam.

EFFECT: possibility of irradiating targets from 1 cm2 to 5 m2 with a neutron flux after the collimator ≥3.6⋅1010 n⋅cm-2⋅h with an exact correspondence of the energy spectrum of the neutron beam to the reference spectrum.
