FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil and gas industry, in particular to a technology for manufacturing ceramic proppants intended for use as proppants in oil or gas production by hydraulic fracturing (HF). The raw material mixture for the manufacture of magnesia-silicate proppant contains calcined magnesian-silicate rock: serpentinite, olivinite, dunite or their combinations, and siliceous raw materials, while amorphous siliceous rocks are used as the siliceous component of the mixture: diatomites or their combinations, gaizes an amount from 18% to 27% of the mass of the raw mixture, providing a ratio of magnesium oxide to silicon oxide by weight in the raw mixture, close to 0.67 - the stoichiometric ratio of magnesium oxide to silicon oxide in enstatite. Diatomites, tripoli, flasks or their combinations with the content of crystalline quartz impurities in natural raw materials not exceeding 15% are used as amorphous silica raw materials. EFFECT: creation of a magnesium silicate proppant with increased strength due to a decrease in the amount of glass phase in the proppant structure.
