FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the oil and gas industry, namely to the technology for manufacturing ceramic proppants intended for use as wedging agents in the extraction of oil or gas by hydraulic fracturing (fracking). The method for manufacturing a magnesium silicate proppant includes the production of a raw charge by calcining magnesia silicate rock and its joint grinding with silica raw materials, wet grinding of the raw charge with the introduction of at least one plasticizing and/or modifying additive, granulation and drying of the resulting ceramic mixture, sieving and sintering of granules. In the process of grinding the raw charge, a plasticizing moisturizing additive is introduced in the form of a clay-lignosulfonate suspension in an amount of 13-15, wt.%, of the resulting ceramic mixture, and then during grinding and/or granulation of the resulting ceramic mixture, a dry binding mineral additive is also introduced: a powder of plastic kaolinite clay. The plasticizing suspension contains components in the following ratio, wt.%: clay 15-20, lignosulfonate 5-10, water the rest.

EFFECT: increase in the strength and crack resistance of the proppant.
