FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composites, in particular to composites with polymer coating containing metal nanoparticles dispersed in a composite matrix for use in selective laser sintering (SLS). Different products can be made of such composite powders. Composite powder for use in selective laser sintering contains a matrix of sulfonated complex polyester containing alkaline salt of polymer selected from a group consisting of poly(1,2-propylene-5-sulfoisophthalate), poly(neopentylene-5-sulfoisophthalate), poly(diethylene-5-sulfoisophthalate), copoly-(1,2-propylene-5-sulfoisophthalate)-copoly-(1,2-propylene-terephthalate-phthalate), copoly-(1,2-propylene-diethylene-5-sulfoisophthalate)-copoly-(1,2-propylene-diethylene-terephthalate-phthalate), copoly(ethylene-neopentylene-5-sulfoisophthalate)-copoly-(ethylene-neopentylene-terephthalate-phthalate) and copoly(propoxylated bisphenol A)-copoly-(propoxylated bisphenol A-5-sulfoisophthalate), and a set of silver nanoparticles dispersed in a matrix, as well as shell polymer located around a particle core, where shell polymer is styrene polymer. Silver nanoparticles are present in composite powder in the amount from 0.5 ppm by weight to 50,000 ppm by weight, the size of composite powder particles is from more than 25 mcm to 300 mcm. A three-dimensional product is also described, which is solid monolith made of composite powder.
EFFECT: providing antibacterial composite powder for use in selective laser sintering, resistant to both thermal decomposition and acids/alkalis that can be used for obtaining three-dimensional monoliths.
