FIELD: encoding/decoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the encoding or decoding, in particular to the determination and clarification of a motion vector. As the first stage, an initial motion vector and a unit pattern are obtained. Then, the clarification of the initial motion vector is determined by comparison with the mentioned pattern in a search space. The search space is in a position, set by the initial motion vector, and it includes one or several fractional sample positions, wherein each of fractional sample positions belonging to the search space is obtained by means of interpolation filtration by a filter of a pre-set tag size, estimating integer samples only inside a window, wherein the mentioned window is formed by means of integer samples available to compare with the pattern in the mentioned search space.
EFFECT: providing the motion vector prediction that allows for accounting the number of accessing external memory and the number of points that are required to be available for clarifying the motion vector for the encoding unit.
