SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of video encoding. In one example, a method of processing video data includes determining a suitable motion vector for outputting motion information of a current block of video data, wherein motion information indicates movement of the current block relative to the reference video data. Method also includes determining derived motion vector for current block based on said determined suitable motion vector, wherein determination of derived motion vector comprises performing motion search for first set of reference data, which corresponds to second set of reference data outside current block.
EFFECT: technical result consists in demonstrating improvement of encoding efficiency.
