FIELD: railway engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a device that provides a selective change in the path of the vehicle along the track guide. The rail switching device, functioning separately or in combination with other similar devices as part of the track switching device in the track switching system of the vehicle direction system, contains a rotary assembly (a rotary sleeve with attached transfer rails and auxiliary elements) and fixed elements (main fixed rail, fixed branch rails and a supporting structure). The fixed rails are attached to conventional rails, and the rotary sleeve selectively rotates, ensuring that each transfer rail is coupled simultaneously with the main fixed rail and with the corresponding fixed branch rail in order to create alternative continuous rail tracks for the movement of vehicles through the rail or track switching device. The mechanism is applicable to single-rail and multi-rail tracks, to supported and suspended vehicles, to traditional and rail-spanning wheel assemblies, to diverging, converging or intersecting switches, as well as to a wide range of track transfer configurations.
EFFECT: as a result, a device has been created that requires a minimum value and a minimum variability of the driving forces for the switch rail, while maximizing energy efficiency, accuracy and ease in controlling the device.
