FIELD: absorbent products.
SUBSTANCE: disposable absorbent product comprises an element based on a double-network polymer, including a crosslinked covalently bonded polymer and a reversibly crosslinked polymer partially bonded by ionic bonds, wherein the element has a moisture level less than or equal to 15% of the total weight of the element, wherein the element has a latent tightening force, and wherein the element is configured to release a tightening force to achieve a change in size in a disposable absorbent product when the element is subjected to impact of a water-based liquid. Manufacture of the disposable absorbent product includes production of a double-network hydrogel; elongation under the impact of force and dehydration of a still elongated double-network hydrogel, wherein the elongation and dehydration enclose a latent tightening force in the element; and placement of the element in the disposable absorbent product so that a change in size in the disposable absorbent product is achieved by subjecting the element to impact of a water-based liquid.
EFFECT: creation of a disposable absorbent product capable of expanding.
