FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used for the manufacture of refractory briquettes used for hot repairs of the lining of steel-making units. The method includes mixing by joint wet grinding of the charge, drying, roasting and high-temperature pelletizing of the charge in an oxidizing atmosphere in a rotary tube furnace, followed by cooling the product. The charge additionally contains flue dust or sludge from oxygen-converter shops, and clay sludge with a moisture content of 55-60% is introduced as a binder in an amount of 0.1-6.0% of the charge weight together with a gypsum-containing material in an amount of 0-2.0 % by weight of the charge. The flux contains, wt.%: calcium oxides 41.0-69.0; magnesium oxides 23.0-51.0; silicon oxides 4.0-32.0; iron oxides 2.9-30.9; aluminum oxides 1.1-29.1.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the furnace productivity by 1.2-1.8%, to reduce dust emissions into the environment by 0.8-2.1% and the output of substandard flux fractions 0-3 mm by 1.5-2.7%, and also increase the life of the converter lining by 10-12 heats.
