SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a gypsum-based product containing polyvinyl acetate. A method for manufacturing a gypsum-based product includes the stages of mixing burnt gypsum with polymer particles and water to form a suspension, while polymer particles contain mainly polyvinyl acetate, and polymer particles are characterized by such a particle size distribution according to measurement using laser diffractometry that particles having a diameter of 4.5 microns or less make up at least 90% of the total volume of particles, and the particles additionally contain polyvinyl alcohol, in this case, the polyvinyl alcohol phase is present in the form of a surface layer extending partially or completely around the outer contour of the particle.
EFFECT: increase in the strength of the plate fastening.
