FIELD: protective coatings.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of applying protective coatings to equipment operating under the influence of aggressive media, and can be used to apply a protective coating on the surface of metal railway tanks intended for the transportation of aggressive liquids, for example acids, in particular to the method for gumming a metal container. The method includes the preparation of a metal surface by degreasing, the execution of a reinforced layer by fixing a metal mesh on the metal surface and applying an adhesive material, laying a gumming layer on the reinforced layer. Moreover, before degreasing, shot blasting of the metal surface is carried out, a metal mesh is laid on the prepared surface without gaps butt-to-butt, welded by spot welding. Then mastic prepared on the basis of a rubber mixture resistant to acids, diluted in a solvent to a fluid state, is applied to the metal mesh, and mastic is applied in several layers with intermediate drying flush with the metal mesh, blanks are prepared from strips of calendered rubber mixture of the same composition as in mastic, no more than 2.5 m long, while the edges of the blanks are cut at an angle of 15-30° to the surface of the workpiece. Next, a gumming layer with a thickness of at least 6 mm is laid on the reinforced layer, consisting of several layers of interconnected blanks, in each layer the blanks are connected to each other by heating the mating surfaces, the layers of blanks are laid with the displacement of the joints of the blanks in one layer relative to the joints of the blanks in the other layer. After laying the layers of workpieces, the vulcanization of the gum coating is carried out with hot air or hot steam.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of fastening, quality and maintainability of the gum coating.
