SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for producing baobab fibres from baobab trees and to a composition containing fibres produced by said method. The method includes providing the baobab plant material, dehydrating said baobab plant material and converting the dehydrated baobab plant material into a fibrous mass, wherein the dehydration of the baobab plant material reduced resource consumption during production of the fibrous mass.

EFFECT: baobab fibres produced using the method for the present invention can further be used for various purposes, e.g., for manufacturing cellulose, paper, cardboard, special paper, fabrics, and fibre-reinforced polymers.
