SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for finishing a large-sized construction panel (1) made of HDF with an upper side (2) and a lower side, wherein said method includes the following stages: a) at the first stage of embossing, embossing a relief at least in the upper side (2), shaped as at least one recess (5) in the form of a strip with the depth (T), b) applying decorative paper to the upper side (2), c) applying a surface paper onto the decorative paper as an abrasion-resistant layer, d) providing a protective layer for the lower side, e) feeding the resulting structure into a press and pressing under high pressure and at high temperature, and f) in the process of pressing at the second stage of embossing, re-embossing at least one recess (5) in the form of a strip at the second stage of embossing without changing the depth (T). According to the present invention, it is assumed that g) the upper side (2) comprises a compacted surface layer with a thickness of 0.3 to 0.5 mm, h) the bulk density of the construction panel (1) in the upper layer forming the upper side (2) is 950 to 1000 kg/m3, i) prior to or immediately after embossing, an aqueous solution of melamine resin is applied to the upper side (2) as a hardening agent, and j) the press constitutes a short-cycle press.
EFFECT: ensured finishing of HDF construction panels.
