FIELD: aeronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aeronautics and can be used for the construction of aircraft lighter than air, in particular in the structure of the shell of airships. The method of stiffening the shell of a semi-rigid airship is characterized by the fact that spiral arms are placed on the inner side of the functional shell filled with a carrier gas, inflated with gas with excess pressure and tightened by radial cables to an axial cable located along the central axis of the shell. The casing obtained by the above method contains spiral sleeves filled with a gas with excess pressure, located on the inner surface of the casing, and radial cables pulling the spiral sleeves to the axial cable.
EFFECT: enables the preservation of lighter-than-air aircraft due to the use of a semi-rigid structure without heavy metal elements while maintaining the necessary characteristics and the possibility of folding the airship.
