DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MECHANICAL SUPPORT OF THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61M60/00 A61M60/289

Abstract RU 2763416 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and medical technology, namely to devices and methods for mechanical support of the lymphatic system in conditions of acute decompensated heart failure. The proposed device contains a catheter designed to be inserted into the left brachiocephalic vein through the left internal jugular vein, and an extracorporeal system for pumping blood. The system for pumping blood is made in the form of a pulsator with a drive and a pulsator drive controller. The distal end of the catheter is equipped with direct-acting output and input mechanical valves, a venous pressure sensor and an inflated balloon connected to the controller monitoring system. The exhaust valve is installed in the area of the end of the catheter, the inflated balloon is located proximal to it, and the intake valve and sensor are located with the possibility of their location in the area of the confluence of the left internal jugular and left subclavian veins. The method involves inserting a catheter through the left internal jugular vein into the left brachiocephalic vein after connecting the catheter to the pulsator in such a way that the direct-acting mechanical inlet valve is located in the area of the confluence of the left internal jugular and left subclavian veins. With the help of the controller, the parameters of the pulsator are set based on the data obtained using the venous pressure sensor.

EFFECT: ensuring a local decrease in central venous pressure, long-term normalization of lymph circulation with minimal antithrombogenic therapy, minimization of conditions leading to blood damage; the possibility of controlled maintenance of lymph output from the thoracic duct due to simple medical and technical solutions.
