FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: denture fixation kit consists of a screw for surgical use and a screwing tool made to screw a screw for attaching either an orthopedic implant to a bone or a dental component to a dental implant. The screw has the first end and a vertex end, a head at its first end and thread at its vertex end, a hole extending in the axial direction from the first end of the screw along part of the screw to the vertex end of the screw, the first area of the hole at the first end and the second area of the hole at the vertex end. The first area of the hole contains latching means, and the second area of the hole contains peripheral engaging means. The screwing tool contains a screwing tool head having the first segment and the second segment. The first segment contains means for actuating latching means in the first area of the hole during the axial insertion of the screwing tool head into the hole so that to hold the screw attached in a detachable manner to the screwing tool. The second segment contains means for engagement of peripheral engaging means in the second area at the vertex end of the hole for transmitting the moment of forces for fixing or loosening the screw. The second segment of the screwing tool head has an essentially rounded axial section. The second area of the hole has a rounded shape of a socket, adapted for engagement with the second segment of the screwing tool head in various positions of the screwing tool inclined relatively to the axial direction of the screw. The second segment of the screwing tool head has a diameter that decreases with increasing distance to the tip, and has the first and the second rectilinear or curved sub-sections located as near and far ones relatively to the tip of screwing tool (2, 102), respectively. Peripheral engaging means are placed in the second area of the hole for interaction with the second, far rectilinear or curved sub-section and with the first, near rectilinear or curved sub-section, when the screwing tool is in the axial direction and is located at an angle relatively to the axial direction, respectively, and curved sub-sections are curved with opposite bulges, and they form an S-shaped profile. The method for operation of the above-mentioned kit contains following steps: alignment of the screwing tool with the axial direction of the screw, contact of the first segment of the screwing tool head with latching means of the screw, axial pressure exerted by the first segment of the screwing tool head on latching means to trigger the latching mechanism of latching means, axial penetration of the screwing tool head from the first area into the second area of the hole, rotation of the screwing tool to engage the second segment of the screwing tool head with peripheral engaging means in the hole for transmitting the moment of forces.
EFFECT: inventions provide an improvement in the function of holding the screw with the screwing tool.
