FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a system and a method for controlling the motion of a self-propelled tracked mining machine having one or more articulated movable links. The system for controlling a self-propelled mining machine includes the first movable link having at least one pair of parallel right and left tracks, while the mentioned system contains a controller configured to: receive from an input means of a given operating value at least one motion parameter for each of parallel right and left tracks driven by corresponding track engines of the first movable link; receive the actual value of the motion parameter for each of parallel right and left tracks from at least one sensor; determine a control signal for each track; form the mentioned control signal for the corresponding track based on the mentioned given operating value of the motion parameter of the corresponding track and the mentioned actual values of the motion parameter for a pair of right and left tracks, including the corresponding track; transmit the control signal to adjustment means to adjust the corresponding track engine in response to the control signal for the corresponding track to correct the motion of the self-propelled mining machine. A method is also proposed.
EFFECT: proposed system and method provide synchronization of the motion of tracks for both linear and nonlinear trajectories.
