FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to a metastable β-titanium alloy and to its use as a clock spring. The metastable β-titanium alloy contains, in wt.%: 24-45 of niobium, 0-20 of zirconium, 0-10 of tantalum and/or 0-1.5 of silicon and/or less than 2 of oxygen, and has a crystallographic structure including a mixture of an austenitic phase and an alpha phase and present omega phase discharges, the volume fraction of which is less than 10%, while the alpha phase content is 1-40 vol.%. The alloy is characterized by a low Young’s module, insignificant magnetic susceptibility and insignificant sensitivity to temperature changes.
EFFECT: obtaining a β-titanium alloy for the manufacture of clock springs.
