FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to high-strength titanium alloys. The titanium alloy consists of, in weight percent per the total weight of the alloy: 2.0-5.0 of aluminum; from more than 3.0 to 8.0 of tin; 1.0-5.0 of zirconium; 6.0-12.0 of one or more elements selected from a group consisting of vanadium and niobium; 0.1-5.0 of molybdenum; 0.01-0.40 of iron; 0.005-0.3 of oxygen; 0.001-0.07 of carbon; 0.001-0.03 of nitrogen; optionally, copper, while the total content of oxygen, vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, iron, copper, nitrogen, and carbon is no more than 16.0; titanium, and impurities. Options of a titanium alloy, and methods for heat treatment of titanium alloys are also disclosed.
EFFECT: alloys are characterized by high plasticity at tensile strength of more than 170 ksi at a room temperature.
