FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measurement of the parameters of gravitational fields and can be applied for masking underground objects for various purposes. The proposed method is based on compensation of the mass of the extracted soil with another material with a greater density. The method for masking underground objects consists in conducting a preliminary gravimetric survey in the area of location of the object, constructing an area plan with contour lines characterising the value of the gravitational anomaly, placing the contour of the masked object on the plan, by aligning the contours of the object and the values of the gravitational anomaly, determining the sections of the object creating the most significant values of the gravitational anomaly, determining the masking values of the Bouguer anomaly, and placing a mass-compensating volume of a material with the required density at the calculated points. The material with the required density is therein placed proportionally to the volume of individual elements of the object. The proposed method is appropriate for use in masking gravitational anomalies caused by the presence of natural cavities in the ground or the placement of underground objects.

EFFECT: increase in the effectiveness of masking of the gravitational field, ensured security of the location of the underground object.
