FIELD: glass production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus and method for making curved glass containing a single glass sheet or a stack of glass sheets. The device contains a bending module, which contains a concave solid upper bending mold and a lower counter-mold, made complementary to the upper form, and the upper bending mold is located above the lower counter-mold. Proposed is device for supplying glass to an end support located under the upper bending mold, the end support being surrounded, as viewed from above, by a lower counter-mold, and the final support forms a glass receiving surface on which the glass is in an optimal position for bending, the lower counter-mold being in the form of a frame and is vertically movable, passing below or above the glass receiving surface. Wherein the upper bending mold and the lower counter-mold are made with the possibility of bringing them into relative vertical movement, allowing them to approach each other in order to clamp the periphery of the glass, and move away from each other, and the upper bending mold is equipped with holes in its contact surface with the glass and a means for applying a suction force for bending glass against a specified contact surface by means of a suction force applied through the specified holes. There is also provided a method for bending a glass sheet or a stack of glass sheets, called glass, by the claimed device.

EFFECT: creation of a bending device suitable for thin glass, not using gravity bending, reducing waviness at the periphery of the glass.
