SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an input apparatus (1) for a roller mill, containing a hopper (2), a force sensor (6) located on the hopper (2), a level sensor (7) located on the hopper (2) for determining the reached level (B) of the milled material in the hopper (2), and a control unit (8). According to the invention, the control unit (8) is made configured to determine the first filling level (A) of the hopper (2) by the force (FG) of gravity identified by the force sensor (6) and determine the characteristic curve (K) of the filling level based on the identified first filling level (A) and the filling level (B) identified by the level sensor (7).
EFFECT: creation of an input apparatus for a roller mill, a control unit for an input apparatus, a roller mill, and a method for determining the filling level of the hopper, capable of eliminating the need to constantly manually check the filling level and calibrate the detected actual level, and providing, in particular, simple, automatic determining of the filling level of the hopper.
